Artist Partial Fellowship
Partial funding in grant, awarded on the basis of merit, reducing the fee amount payable to the Village. Recipients to unconditionally donate one artwork produced during there stay.
This 45-day residency includes standard or duplex furnished room, three freshly prepared vegetarian meals per day, laundry service, internet access, airport pick-up, shared or private workspace, Presentation of work to village administrative staff and fellow recipients and Participation in Group exhibition / Performance on exhibition day at the end of the residency. Participation in Heart, Body, Soul program is a requirement. This specially designed program provides up-close, enriching experience of Indian art, culture and spirituality. The fellowships begin 20 Apr '08, 05 Jun '08, 21 Jul '08, 05 Sept '08, 21 Oct '08, 06 Dec '08, 21 Jan 09, 08 Mar 09, 23 Apr 09, 08 Jun '09, 24 Jul 09, 08 Sept '09, 24 Oct '09 and 09 Dec '09.
Eligibility: Artists of all creative disciplines - visual, literary, performing and healing arts are eligible.
Village Community Care
Caring for your community provides an opportunity to connect with others at the Village while participating in activities that support and enhance daily life.
Residents may choose to volunteer their time for the village community care' by sharing their skills, by leading a workshop, doing an artistic project, cooking, helping with food service, designing publicity material for the village, gardening, cleaning, etc. Working together for the common good has proven to be an enriching experience for past residents and we welcome this infusion of creative energy in our work environment. Please contact the village caretaker for volunteering.
Residency Schedule 2008 - 2009
Presentation of work to village administrative staff and fellow recipients is generally scheduled within the first 7 days of the residency. The group exhibition is held during the last week of the residency.

Emerging Artists upto the age of 27 years are eligible for reduction in accommodation rates. 10% reduction is offered to artists who have completed BFA and 20% reduction is offered to artists who have completed MFA
- There are three constituents in your cost of residency:

Duplex Room
This tastefully designed single unit is split at two levels and covered by a sloping roof made of bamboo and thatch. A private bathroom and work space / studio is located on the lower level opening to a small private lawn / balcony. The upper level has a living space overlooking the work space / studio below with a view of the lawns on the other side. Connecting these two levels is a wooden staircase.
Standard Room
This comfortably designed accommodation has a living area opening to a small private lawn and patio along with an attached bathroom. This space is suitable for artists who would like to work in shared studios. Please note that the shared studios have no walls enclosing or dividing the space.
Accommodation in Administrative Staff Quarters :
Some rooms located on the first and second floors may be available to participants. There are 4 single rooms and 1 twin sharing room with bathrooms on each floor. This space and the bathrooms are shared between the village administrative staff and the participants, both men and women. Workspace is in the shared studios. Please note that the shared rooms are allotted to the same gender. For power back, we have a Diesel Generator kept in a sound proof enclosure on the ground floor, which causes some noise when in use.

Terms & Conditions :
- Two-thirds of the residency program to be spent at the Village
- Project description to be submitted with the application
- Unconditional donation of one work of art completed during the residency, or an appropriate substitute, to the Village. The Village will select an artwork after the exhibition from the Artist's remaining unsold works.
- Acknowledgement of the Village in any documentation, publication or presentation of work produced during the Residency.
- Submission of program evaluation.
- Acceptance of Program Benefits, Terms & Conditions, Information and 20% of invoiced amount to be wired/transferred within 2 weeks of sending an acceptance.
- Acceptance of Resident Information and Guidelines outlined in the Handbook.
Information:
- An Information and Guidelines Handbook is provided to all residents to be respected and followed during the residency.
- Recipients may add additional nights of stay at the Village before or after the residency dates at a cost of $50 US (standard room) or $60 US (duplex room) depending upon availability.
- INR 250 ($6.25 US) per meal will be charged for each guest invited by the resident.
- The village will assist in sourcing materials necessary to create work but all material, outsourcing and transportation costs is to be borne by the artist.
- Kiln charge is INR 1,500 for bisque fire and INR 3,000 for high fire - based on the market price and availability of gas. Please check prevailing charges with the office and book the kiln by paying in advance.
- Long distance, both International and National, calls can be made: 1) outside the Village at public ISD/STD/PCO stands; and 2) from your mobile phone.
- Incoming calls should be taken on your personal mobile phone.
- Mobile phones and SIM cards can be bought at nearby shops.
- For heating needs (Mid-December through Mid-February), convector space heaters of 2-kilo watt each will be provided in non air-conditioned/heater rooms. An additional deposit of $150 US for one heater for Standard Rooms and $275 US for two heaters for Duplex Room is required from applicants for winter residency. For spring residency, an additional deposit of $50 US for one heater for Standard Rooms and $100 US for two heaters for Duplex Room is required for a 15-day heating charge approximately.
- Towels are not included in the rooms.
- Taxis, rickshaws and buses can also be taken to most areas of Delhi at costs ranging from 5 cents to $8 US.
Payments:
- The Accommodation fee, "Contribution towards Meal" charges and "Heart Body Soul Program fee" is based on the total amount with no reduction given for late arrival and/or time away from the Village during the residency.
- A program fee deposit of 20% is due within 14 days of receipt of acceptance confirmation.
- All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Balance program fee is due upon arrival. Payment accepted in Indian Rupees (INR) by cash or wire-transfer:
- Cash - Per Indian law, we can accept payment in cash in Indian Rupees only. You can obtain Indian Rupees upon arrival by exchanging traveler's checks or currency or making credit card / ATM withdrawals. (Be aware that there may be limits on daily cash withdrawal amounts and exchange rates for credit cards are generally less than traveler's checks and currency).
- Wire Transfer - Must be received before the arrival date.
- As we accept balance payments in Indian Rupees, you can bring your local currency if it is freely convertible. This will save you an extra conversion charge from your local currency to US dollars to Indian Rupees. US Dollars to Indian Rupees conversion rate on the date of payment shall apply.
- All remittal banking charges and/or intermediary banking charges are to be borne by the remitter.
- The Village has the right to terminate the residency period. In this case, 30% of the program fee for the remaining days will be refunded.
- There is no refund for cancellation of the residency once the residency has commenced.
Any loss or damage of personal belongings is the sole responsibility of the resident.
