The Global Arts Village would like to emphasize the capabilities for artists working in sculpture. While our sculpture studio is available for small sculptures using low tech or hand tools, the possibilities for having sculptures fabricated by our staff are endless. The village has fabricators, carpenters and welders to help realize your sculpture projects at quite reasonable rates.
A Site-specific Sculpture is awarded for each residency period. Artists interested in making a Site-Specific sculpture for the village will need to have a project proposal approved by Ashwin and Mark. Please see more details in our Site-Specific fellowship section.
"Kabir" Sculpture Workshop
It is approximately 200 square feet and is available for small sculpture work. The space is enclosed on three sides but open to the air. The workshop is available 24 hours per day, but we do ask that noise be kept to a minimum, especially during events in the nearby halls and at night. Basic tools will be provided. For residents interested in using the studio, the final set-up and organization is available as part of village community care work.
Village staff will assist artists in locating specific materials and/or tools necessary to create work including welding, casting, etc.
