About Delhi: As the capital of India, Delhi acts as an excellent base for artists to access cultural information and events, international commodities and facilities and travel connections to other parts of India. The Village is located on the outskirts of South Delhi. It is cloistered to provide tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi life yet connected to the city center by different forms of transportation including taxi, auto-rickshaw, and public buses. A bicycle is also available on the premises for trips to nearby shops and villages. The Village is approximately 18 km from the airport and 25 km from the train station. It is located near the ‘Qutab Minar'-- the tallest brick minaret in the world and within an easy commuting distance to many museums, art galleries, markets, gardens and temples.
Language: There are 18 official languages in India. Hindi being a National language is widely spoken in and around Delhi although English is also commonly spoken and is the primary language at the Village.
Population: Delhi has a population of more than 15 million people.
Climate: Northern India experiences a pleasant range of temperatures throughout the year. Winter extends from December through February and is relatively dry and cool. Although the average minimum and maximum temperature is between 7°C and 20°C (45°F and 68°F), nights can get quite chilly, falling to 3°C (37°F) in December and January. If staying at the Village during winter, you should bring warm clothing for evening activities and sleeping. Spring moves into Summer in March through May and is dry with increasingly warmer temperatures ranging between 30°C and 40°C (86°F and 104°F); Rainy season begins in June and lasts through September with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 38°C (75°F and 100°F); October and November feature balmy weather with warm sunny days and cool evenings and temperatures between 13°C and 33°C (55°F and 91°F).
