Site-Specific Sculpture Full Fellowship
We take pride in the site-specific sculptures donated by Sook Jin Jo of USA , Dominika Greisgraber of Poland , Guillermo Molinero of Venezuela and Nataniel Moiane of Mozambique , adorning the landscape of the village. We invite you to join our community for a period ranging between 45 to 60 days and create a sculpture to last 3 years. All materials will be provided. The artist is to donate the sculpture unconditionally to the Village. Project proposal with budget has to be submitted within two weeks of arrival.
This 45 to 60 days residency has no program fee and includes Honorarium of $500 US upon completion of site-specific sculpture, furnished standard or duplex room, three freshly prepared vegetarian meals per day, laundry service, broadband wi-fi internet access in the Heart building, airport pick-up, shared work studio space.
The following activities have been scheduled for our 45-day Full Fee contributing residency program; Partial; Full fellowship participants. If your stay coincides with these events, you are welcome to join:
- Participation in Group exhibition / Final performance at the village on the day of exhibition to exhibit art work produced during the residency
- “Opening the Door” Full Day Inspiration and Creativity Meditation workshop
- A Guided day tour to Art & Craft Museum and Garhi Artist Studios. T his trip provides an introduction to Indian art & culture.
Residency can begin and end on mutually convenient dates
Eligibility:
Sculptors working in eco-friendly mediums with significant experience in making site-specific permanent sculptures.
Village Community Care
Caring for your community provides an opportunity to connect with others at the Village while participating in activities that support and enhance daily life.
Residents may choose to volunteer their time for the ‘village community care' by sharing their skills, by leading a workshop, doing an artistic project, cooking, helping with food service, designing publicity material for the village, gardening, cleaning, etc. Working together for the common good has proven to be an enriching experience for past residents and we welcome this infusion of creative energy in our work environment. Please contact the village caretaker for volunteering.
Residency Schedule 2008 - 2009
Presentation of work to village administrative staff and fellow recipients is generally scheduled within the first 7 days of the residency. The group exhibition is held during the last week of the residency.

Duplex Room
This tastefully designed single unit is split at two levels and covered by a sloping roof made of bamboo and thatch. A private bathroom and work space / studio is located on the lower level opening to a small private lawn / balcony. The upper level has a living space overlooking the work space / studio below with a view of the lawns on the other side. Connecting these two levels is a wooden staircase.
Standard Room
This comfortably designed accommodation has a living area opening to a small private lawn and patio along with an attached bathroom. This space is suitable for artists who would like to work in shared studios. Please note that the shared studios have no walls enclosing or dividing the space.
Benefits:

Terms & Conditions:
- Two-thirds of the residency program to be spent onsite at the Village
- Initial Project proposal to be sent along with the application and final Project proposal with budget has to be submitted within two weeks of arrival.
- The artist is to donate the site-specific sculpture unconditionally to the Village.
- Mention of the Village in any documentation, publication or presentation of work produced during the Residency .
- Acceptance of Program Benefits, Terms & Conditions and Resident Information and Guidelines outlined in Handbook.
Information:
- An Information and Guidelines Handbook is provided to all residents to be followed and respected during the residency.
- Recipients may add additional nights before or after the residency dates at a cost of $50 US (standard room) or $60 US (duplex room) depending upon availability.
- 250 Rs ($6.25 US) per meal will be charged for each guest invited by the resident.
- The village will assist to source materials necessary to create work
- Kiln charge is Rs 1,500 for bisque fire and Rs 3,000 for high fire - based on the market price according to gas availability. Please check prevailing charges with the office and book the kiln by paying in advance.
- Long distance, both international and national, calls can be made: 1) outside the Village at public ISD/STD/PCO stands; and 2) from your mobile phone.
- Incoming calls should be taken with your personal mobile phone.
- Mobile phones and SIM cards can be bought at nearby shops
- For heating needs (Mid-December through Mid-February), convector space heaters of 2-kilo watt each will be provided in non air-conditioned/heater rooms. An additional deposit of $150 US for one heater for Standard Rooms and $275 US for two heaters for Duplex Room is required from applicants for winter residency. For spring residency, an additional deposit of $50 US for one heater for Standard Rooms and $100 US for two heaters for Duplex Room is required for a 15-day heating charge approximately.
- Towels are not included in the rooms.
- Taxis, rickshaws and buses can also be taken to most areas of Delhi at costs ranging from 5 cents to $8 US.
- The Village has the right to terminate the residency
- Any loss or damage of personal belongings is the sole responsibility of the resident.
